Do localism posts work? Is ActiveRain driving internet traffic to us?
There has been a lot of discussion about whether there is value in writing about local events and businesses. I'm here to tell you of another success story.
Last April, I wrote a blog about my husband's son's hot dog business in Bartlett, IL -
Today, my phone rang and it was Mary from the Barlett Library who is looking to put together an event and wants to use local residents to supply the event. She found my blog about Jim's Hey Now Hot Dog stand located in Barlett and I confirmed he is a Barlett homeowner. I gave her his number and she promptly called him to book his services!!!
Localism does work. People DO want to know what's happening in their area and need different ideas for different reasons. Here's a perfect example!!!
Have fun, Jim!!!
