Top Ten Things to do this Labor Day 2011 in Chicago, IL

Chicago has some pretty great events that can be attended this Labor Day Weekend 2011:

Here's my pick of the Top Ten Things to do This Labor Day 2011 in Chicago, IL:

1. The 33rd Annual Chicago Jazz Festival which begins September 1 thru 4, 2011:

2. The Chicago Summer Dance which also begins September 1st thru the 3rd, 2011

3. Take me out to the Ball Game where the Chicago Cubs will be playing the Pittsburgh Pirates on September 2 thru the 5th.

4. We have to have fireworks and there will be a display of Chicago Fireworks over Navy Pier on September 3, 2011.

5. Taste of Polonia which is on the west side of Chicago and awesome food and music brought to you by the Polish Community on September 2 thru the 5th.

6. Can't forget the 40th Anniversary of Soul Train which will be celebrated in Millennium's Park on September 5, 2011.

Really getting local for those in Chicago's Lincoln Square Neighborhood:

7. Farmers Market on September 1, 2011 - A lot of fresh fruits, veggies, flowers, you name it, the bread, the honey, the homemade jams and alot of them coming from Michigan and Indiana!

8. The Summer Concert Series at Giddings Place in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Square from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. where you will enjoy the Classic rock as Captain Blood Orchestra performs on September 1, 2011

9. Dankhaus will be featuring the "Voices of Heaven" which is a mixed voice choir from Eberbech, Germany on September 1st from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

10. Strongly suggest you all having special time with your family as school has begun or will begin. I can't emphasize enough about such a strong tradition in my family over in Michigan and the memories I have from my childhood.

And finally, be safe. Don't drink, drive or text. As they say in Michigan "Bring 'em back alive."

Have a great Labor Day Weekend 2011, Chicago!
