Pre-wired $6 Million Dollar Mom is For Sale

Today has been a difficult day for me because my Mom had open heart surgery. She is no spring chicken, as most of you know, but the great thing is ... well, she's a fighter and scrapper just like me and she made good on her promise to me.

As a Realtor, most people do not know what goes on in our lives and I have one client that needed some extra special help and it was a decision that my Mom and I made together for me to stay in Chicago while she was operated on in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The last time I saw my Mom was six weeks ago and I got an awesome hug from her when I left GR at that time. We've talked on the phone alot, especially this past week and I sent her a gift to pack her things in while in ICU in exchange she promised me that she would do everything she could so that she would see me again, should challenges arise on the operating table. And they did. We had a simple left ventricle replacement turn into a major turnpike reconstruction on her heart. I was getting calls and texts from my siblings as this was ongoing during the day while I was working with the client who needed that extra special help.

I wrote two contracts on two properties that are short sales that already are under contract for this woman today. See, she canceled two meetings this week for undisclosed reasons and that led to me being in Chicago instead of GR. Some may call me crazy and know that I think about it, I made a huge sacrifice today and I don't think I'd ever do that one again.

My Mom is 78 and a spry young thing in her mindset and heart. She had a lot of replacing done but I can honestly say that I am one of the few agents that could put her mother on the block for $6 Million Dollars because she's back in working order, must have a huge hospital bill and of course, she is pre-wired. Not for cable but this doctor, like a good Realtor, thought ahead and ran the wiring through my mother's heart for a potential pacemaker down the road. Which means, very or little work that would be required.

I am greatful for client's who understand what we do as agents and for those agents who put the extra effort into their work, I just want to applaud you because that's where I lost it today. I heard of a doctor that cared about my mother and went the extra mile.
