Evanston condos for $300,000 - $400,000.

Continuing with my series of "What can you buy in Evanston for $xxx, xxx? We're going to now veer into condos. So, what can you buy in Evanston condos between $300,000 and $400,000?

Weighing in at $305,000, here is a condo (a recent conversion in 2006). It's a 3 bedroom/2 bath at 1014 Main Street, right here in Central Evanston, listed by Judy Newton of Coldwell Banker. This condo was gut-rehabbed, and everything was replaced right down to the flooring. Kitchen with stainless/and beautiful cabinetry, new baths, working fireplace, diagonal hardwood flooring and 9 foot ceilings.

Next we have a 3 bedroom / 2 bath recent conversion (2005), in East Central Evanston... Listed for 319,000 and located at 2147 Ridge, #2A and represented by some goomba named Alan May with Coldwell Banker, it is right across the street from the Civic Center, this beautifully rehabbed condo has hardwood flooring, stainless/cherry kitchen, 2 baths (including a master bath w/whirlpool), in-unit laundry and a private heated garage space.

And here's a really nice two bedroom condo, in a recent build, right near downtown Evanston called Sienna court... 1720 Oak Avenue, unit 501, listed for $325,000 and represented by Patricia DeNoyer (one of my favourite agents) of Coldwell Banker. It has all of the upgrades that you'd expect... hardwood flooring, a fireplace, custom-built closets, granite/stainless kitchen, in-unit laundry and a balcony.

Here's another recent build, located in east central Evanston... near the el, near northwestern, near the lakefront, and just north of downtown Evanston. An intimate Evanston condo in an elevator building, with granite/stainless kitchen, select red oak, gas-start-woodburning fireplace, 9+Ft ceilings, crown mouldings, in-unit laundry a 5x15 foot balcony facing south, and a garage space and a tandem out door parking space. Located at 819 Foster #2-S, this is another one listed by that gargoyle Alan May from Coldwell Banker, listed for a very reasonable (in my opinion) $374,900.
