Hawthorn Woods is a small sized village to the north of Lake Zurich and shares the same zip code. Typical homes are 4 bedroom on 1 acre lots with many built in the 1970's but in recent years Hawthorn Woods has had new developments with larger and more expensive homes but again mostly 1 acre lots. The Hawthorn Woods Country Club is a large Toll Brothers development which also has up market town homes. Some of the subdivisions are Brierwoods Estates, Bridlewoods, Walnut Creek Copperfield, Knottingwood Lakes, White Birch Lakes, Lochanora, Rambling Hills East, Rambling Hills, Thornberry Creek, and many more small subdivisions.

In the last 12 months there have been 53 residential sales in total of which all were homes. 5 of these were foreclosure sales, i.e. homes owned by the bank. 4 of the sales were short sales. i.e. homes owned by sellers that owed more on the mortgage than the home could sell for and sold due to financial hardship.
