LOMBARD ILLINOIS - PRAIRIE PATH
Taking a break from real estate today, I've been extremely busy, this market is definitely turning around! There are many great deals here, and it seems the buyers are finally getting it!
It's time to take a day and kick back and enjoy our 60 degree day here! The weather has been extremely chilly and it's gorgeous right now!
If you're not familiar with Lombard Illinois, this is just one of many perks we have here, the Illinois Prairie Path.
It's a 62 mile walking/bike path, 25 miles west of Chicago.
Built in the 1960'S,it was the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin electric railroad. The Prairie Path was the first "rail to trail" conversion of it's kind in the country. The volunteer movement that created it, led by legendary Chicago area naturalist, May Thielgaard Watts, sparked a national trend.
The path starts in Maywood and ends in Elgin. Certain parts have the old fashioned streetlights and it's soooo pretty at night all lit up.
I walk everyday on the path, but today I lingered along enjoying the day, taking pictures, looking at the trees finally blooming for spring, and catching some critters just hanging out.
Lombard is a great place to live! I'll share more of Lombard's great features, but today, I'm taking it easy.
You should too!
