Reflections on living in the Midwest.

There is something to be said for living in the flat boring landlocked Midwest.

As far as the weather goes, Yes, we have the occasional Twister fly through the area, mere seconds and it's over.

In retrospect it's pretty insignificant by comparison. Let me be cautious when I say that, since according to past News reports 29 lost lives and over 350 were injured in Plainfield in 1990. I'm sure to those people the seemingly insignificant seconds changed their lives forever. But, when I say by comparison, I refer to the hundreds of thousands affected by natural disasters of hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, mudslides and wildfires.

We live in the boring, mundane Midwest, but I'll take it thank-you. I feel blessed to have not had to live through what it seems the rest of the nation has experienced at one time or another. My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered through one of these disasters most specifically those suffering in California right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
