Visit the 26th Annual St. Charles, IL Scarecrow Fest, October 7th - October 9th


For the 26th year, St. Charles, IL, will be hosting its' Annual St. Charles Scarecrow Fest. This year's Fest is being held October 7th through October 9th.

Gene Mundt Chicago Bancorp St. Charles Scarecrow Festival BlogAlthough this event is celebrated in many areas and locations of St. Charles, the central location for the Fest is to be found on the west side of the Fox River at Lincoln Park. This is where you will find the many hand-made scarecrows featured at the Annual St. Charles Scarecrow Fest.

Once again this year, there's great entertainment and activities planned, a carnival, a huge Fall Craft Show, food vendors galore, and much more! Convenient shuttle transportation is available for the over 100,000 visitors that attend the St. Charles Scarecrow Fest annually. (Click here for a schedule of planned entertainment)

Attendees can also participate in making their own scarecrow if they choose. In fact, there is a Scarecrow Contest open to those hoping to use their creative skills and talents. It's FREE to enter the contest, whether an individual, a family, group, community organization, or business.

If hoping to enter the annual Scarecrow Contest, entry forms (CLICK HERE) must be received by the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau by no later than October 1st, 2011.

All entries will be assigned a location for exhibiting during the St. Charles Scarecrow Fest, as well as a sign for voting purposes.

The hours for the 26th Annual St. Charles Scarecrow Fest are:

Friday, October 7th - 9 am to 9 pm

Saturday, October 8th - 9 am to 9 pm

Sunday, October 9th - 9 am to 6 pm

The hours for the Autumn on the Fox Arts and Craft Show (held in Pottawatamie Park, St. Charles) are:

Friday, October 7th - 9 am to 5 pm

Saturday, October 8th - 9 am to 5 pm

Sunday, October 9th - 9 am to 4 pm


Located just one hour west of the City of Chicago, St. Charles, IL is located near major tollways and highways (I-355, I-90, I-88) for easy commuting to this event.
