Fight for Equal Justice for the Poor should go VIRAL! Spread the Word . . .

Dear Friends and Associates,

Three weeks from today will be the most critical day in Administer Justice's 11-year history.

It will determine whether or not they will be able to reduce their clients' wait (and worry) time to under 3 weeks before they can see an attorney.

It will determine whether or not they will be able to add a staff attorney who can help them manage the explosive outcry from the suburban poor for equal justice under the law.

It will determine whether or not their plans to expand their outreach into additional communities can go forward.

Three weeks from today, their annual 'Raising the Bar' banquet will set their course for the next year and beyond. Now that 1 out of 6 Americans exist in poverty -- and Illinois' statistics being even more grim -- their access to financial support has never been more important.

Pastor Appreciation Breakfast brings
33 local clergy together

pastor event 2011

This past Wednesday morning, Administer Justice celebrated the work of the local church on behalf of the poor in their communities. 33 area pastors sat down to breakfast to enjoy a respite from their busy schedules, and receive an update on suburban poverty and the need for equal access to justice.

Executive Director Bruce Strom brought to light the grim statistics about the state of poverty, particularly within our service areas of Kane and DuPage County.

For example, Administer Justice is at the forefront of intervening on behalf of the over 1600 homeless school children within the Elgin school district. For those still living in a home, they are working with many of their parents on matters of foreclosure, through free foreclosure workshops and legal advocacy. As poverty continues its pervasive march into the suburbs, they are working with local churches to spread the word about their ministry to those in their flock who are now experiencing a season of poverty.

Perhaps one of the best articles written thus far to bring clarity about how quickly the affluent can fall into poverty was published in the Chicago Tribune.

Titled: "From Good Times to Bad Times", the article chronicles the downward spiral into poverty that is happening all too often right in our own neighborhoods -- even those with the toniest zip codes.

We need your help to spread the word about Administer Justice!

If a skateboarding dog can go viral, shouldn't the fight for equal justice for the poor do the same?

We have a facebook page and we'd sure appreciate it if you would "like" us so our postings will show up on your wall. Go to www.AdministerJustice.org to go to our page right now!
