Is Campton's Fire Department A Chinese Fire Drill?

I go to a CPR licensing class with a paramedic and an EMT. We digress about our new school at Saint Pat's. A time out is called and everything revolves around the new "for profit" Countryside Fire Department in Campton Hills, formerly known as Wasco. All the talk goes to the fire that burnt the home down in Fox Mill (which was only 3 minutes away from the fire station. The conversation further reiterated that South Elgin got there at the same time or prior to this for profit fire station.

The parents all said that with the new school, if a child gets hurt that they should NOT wait for the Countryside Paramedics, but rather take their kid themselves to the Urgecenter in South Elgin. It's not the policy of Saint Pat's, but it was unanimous from everyone in the room, including the professinals. It was stated that the last for profit fire department in Illinois went under after three years. The experts there believes the same will happen here.

It blows me away. Ultimately it comes down to protecting our families and children. With my last accident, I did the same. I didn't call 911, I didn't want to wait. I'm glad that I did. To quote the captain in Hill Street Blues... let's be careful out there.
