Located 25 miles west of Chicago, City of Wheaton occupies 11.2 square miles with a population of around 55,000 residents. Wheaton ranked No. 54 in the 2008 Money Magazine national listing of the best places to live in America. The magazine noted Wheaton's diverse group of organizations and outstanding park district and library. Chicago magazine ranked Wheaton the "healthiest of Chicago's largest suburbs" in 2005 because of its low crime rate, vast open spaces and thriving downtown. Wheaton real estate is special because an entire 17% of land use is for commercial purposes and which is located in several business districts such as North Main Street, downtown, Danada, and more.
