January saw some mixed numbers with a 13% decrease in the number of homes sold and a 10% increase in the average sales price. They days on the market were down and the price per square foot was up. I sort of expected a lackluster January because of the upcoming tax credit expiration. We still have a few months for this and people’s nature will be to procrastinate. We should see steady increases as this draws nearer in April.
