Middlebury Town Council is expected to vote on an ordinance Monday night that would require town residents with drinking wells to hook onto city water when their wells fail. The meeting will start at 7 pm in Town Hall.
The potable water connections ordinance would prohibit town residents from putting in a new drinking water well if they are within 300 feet of a water line and the town can supply adequate pressure. Action on the ordinance was tabled at the April 7th meeting so that language in the ordinance could be clarified.
Council memebers also will hear a proposal to replace the town's 30 year old north sewer lift station and a proposal for an engineering study to determine what needs to be done to improve the wastwater treatment plant.
