I can almost smell them! I love lilacs...Had them growing up in Wisconsin, but they just aren't as fragrant in Ventura, CA!

Oooo, I can almost smell those.  Lilacs are wonderful.

I love Lilacs,  my daughter instead of rose petals had the twin flower girls carry and throw bits of lilacs down the aisle at her wedding.. I have along side of my home bushes that are almost large enough to be trees.  One bush is the deepest purple I have ever seen.  Any way wish we had "smell computer"  think I will go burn my lilac candle.

LYNN:  LOL yes, I lived in Sarasota FL for 24 yrs, I missed them EVERY spring...they need that good cold winter to be the best!

BRENDA: Yes, they are. I currently have things blooming everywhere. Pink Weigela, Mock Orange and Peonies. Love them all!

JUNE: Thats a neat idea from your daughters wedding...did she have the color purple as one of her "colors" or does she love them as much as her mom does?  I just planted a dark purple bush last year. No flowers yet, but it did put out some nice new shoots of growth this spring. Not sure where its planted is too good either, surrounded by red oaks and spruce trees..soils got to be rather acidic.
