What would you do if you were known as Hendricks County's Biggest Loser? Would you wear a shirt declaring your title? Throw a party and invite all your friends? Or would you keep it hidden, hoping noone finds out?
The name, by itself, has a negative connotation and meaning, like when a young person would make a "L" shape with their thumb and forefinger against their head, denoting you are a loser.
Then came the TV Reality show, The Biggest Loser, which gave new meaning to the title. Being a loser in this arena was cause for celebration. Have you ever seen this show? - these contestants work hard.
Target Metabolism in Avon is now accepting entries for Get Healthy Hendricks County. In exchange for your $20 donation, you will receive 3 complimentary body composition testings in the BodPod from Target Metabolism, by which the contest will be judged.
I really just want to know what a BodPod is!
The kickoff is June 30th at the Hendricks County Rib Fest. The BodPod testing will be conducted right after July 4th. the contest runs for four months with prizes awarded for the top three losers.
Proceeds from this contest will go to the Hendricks Community Foundation where Target Metabolism and its INShape partners in this campaign have set up a grant fund for Health and P.E. teachers in Hendricks County. This generation of children is the first generation not expected to live as long of a life as their parents. This grant fund will aid our teachers in purchasing "lifetime skills" equipment for their classrooms.
