Pay It Foward - Summertime Heat

Its 90 degrees, the AC is out and it will be three days until the HVAC company can come for a review…and oh, by the way…I’m 8 months pregnant.

That’s the situation we had recently. My husband and I own a rental home in the neighborhood…we bought it when I couldn’t sell it. Glad that doesn’t happen too often!

We have a warranty on the home and this particular company requires us to use their vendor who was backlogged from the high temperatures kicking into gear.

Insult to injury…the home was built in 1990 and needed to find the right size AC connections…turns out I don’t have modification coverage on my warranty. Believe me...I’ve learned a lot about home warranty do’s and don’ts!

My tenants who are 8 months pregnant went 6 days in 90 degree heat without AC.

We decided during that time we would give them a dinner certificate for a dinner in an air conditioned restaurant. In the Pay It Forward spirit; we were happy to make their life a little bit better if only for a few hours.
