For all you history buffs this year will be the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birthday. As part of the celebration a re-enactment of Lincoln's flatboat trip down the Ohio River is scheduled. On Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 Lincoln's Journey of Remembrence will depart from Rockport, Indiana following a send-off celebration that will begin at 11 a.m.
The replica flatboat that will be used in this re-enactment of his 1828 trip is already in Rockport, Indiana. The flatboat and it's crew will journey down the Ohio River to New Orleans, Louisiana.
