Wakarusa Dime Store, Wakarusa, Indiana, Home of the Giant Jelly Bean

If you are not from Elkhart County or Wakarusa, you probably have not seen the Giant Jelly Bean that Wakarusa Dime Store is famous for. I have seen numerous commercials showing a normal sized jelly bean next to the giant one, but it still did not prepare me for the real thing.  The Giant Jelly Bean still doesn't describe it perfectly.  I mean, it r e a l l y is BIG!

Not only do they have the Giant Jelly Bean in several flavors, but the whole store is home to just about every kind of candy known to mankind.  All the favorites from my youth and teen years are there, and they even have boxed sets of candy from the 1960's, 1970's and the 1980's.  A treat for sure!

If you are passing thru town and want a fun couple of hours, go to Wakarusa Dime Store.  It's less than 10 miles from Elkhart and worth the trip.  You will be glad you stopped!  Here, take a look!  A whole row of taffy no less...
