Overland Park council votes 10 -2 for approval of Lowe's project

Overland Park city council voted 10 - 2 in favor of an 80 acre developement planned for 159th Street and Metcalf.

The site is planned to be anchored by a Lowe's retail store and had been met with much resistance. The surrounding neighbors had a petition protesting the project which made approval require at least 10 votes to pass (which it did get on Monday).

The developement will be a mixed use type of developemnt which is becomeing more and more popluar in South Johnson County.
