Minor League Baseball in Kansas City
Tonight our Keller Williams office went together as a group to a TBones Baseball game here in Kansas City. Our group took several rows and seats, there must have been close to a hundred of us there. You could see us from anywhere as we all wore our RED shirts in representation of Keller Williams.
I guess for me, the joy of the game is really watching other people as they experience the game. Some for the first time in their young lives as they attended the game. Mom and dad helping them experience the game, the cotton candy, the hot dogs, the refreshments and hoping to gain that all elusive fly ball!
Our receptionist's and her husband had her young daughter there to enjoy the game and as I watched I saw the expression on this young girls face, capping her hands outstretched as if she was saying, "Catch me a fly ball! - Catch me a fly ball!"
I thought, what an experience she would have to really catch a fly ball and what memories would she take away from the experience? How would she remember this experience later in life? Would she remember it?
So as my wife and I were sitting there, I thought, "okay, if one comes this way, I'll get it and give it to her! Well, I didn't have to wait too long and what do you know, a fly ball came our way and I did get it and I gave it to her! That was the biggest joy I think I could have experienced! Her mom and dad "thanked me" but the biggest appreciation was the look on her face as she was able to take home a baseball from her first experience at a baseball game!
I overheard her dad tell her how he had been to so many games and didn't have the opportunity to catch a baseball and how lucky she was to have one on her first game day! Something in me was saying that I bet she will remember this day as an experience with her family for some time in the future. You see she didn't have a dad until this past year and one that has served our country in the armed forces! I honor all of them and thank them every day for what they have given to keep the rest of us save.
Oh, by the way, the TBones game was celebrating and in honor of our Armed Forces! What a great day!

I had a great time, too. Though I must have spent $4,582 on pretzels, nachos, cokes, cotton candy, hot dogs and such.... A family of 6 adds up.
Wow Chris, I guess I missed the show! Looks like you are having a great year in concessions and merchandise sales! You little girl seemed to be really enjoying the game and that in itself is priceless! Glad you had a great time as well!
I been to a few games, but never had the ball hit near my area. I've tried the right field bleacher at Dodger's Stadium. The Ball Park at Arlington not Angeles Stadium have yielded no love either.
I know exactly what you're talking about David. My son plays Coach's Pitch for our local little league. ( We just one the Championship for our didvision ) I'm the team mom and one of our most avid cheer leaders. There's nothing like a good ole baseball game to bring the family together.
