Will Carbon Monoxide kill YOU this year!

Once again winter is almost upon us. As we enjoy these last few days of Indian Summer (what beautiful weather that's been) it's past time to get our gas furnaces checked to ensure we can survive the cold in comfort.

BUT, it's also time to ensure that we have working carbon monoxide detectors in our homes if there is a carbon monoxide source in the home.

Carbon monoxide can poison you with a great amount in a short time frame or a low amount in a long time frame.  A lot of people who think they have flu symptoms are actually being poisoned by carbon monoxide.  See the link below on "Flu versus Carbon Monoxide Poisoning".

Have you checked your Kentucky Carbon Monoxide detectors. It’s past time to do so.

The last Kentucky ice storm resulted in seven deaths related to carbon monoxide poisoning during power outages.

Don’t be a statistic. Check your detectors and ensure they are operating properly or install new ones.

Some of those deaths were Darwin Award related. Things most of us fully understand may hurt us such as:

Using a charcoal grill to provide heat

Using a gas oven to provide heat

Using a generator INSIDE the home to provide power

Check your Kentucky Carbon Monoxide Detectors and ensure they are in good working order.

Don’t do stupid things to stay warm. Death is permanent.

Here are links to some past articles I’ve written on carbon monoxide.  If you think your house is haunted, you really should read the last article below:
