I was recently quoted in the local paper being a bit of a contrarian. The article was discussing the recent release of the Case-Shiller Index report, and how it had reported an increase in the sales prices of homes. In response, the local reporter was looking for confirmation from local agents, but I was reporting quite the opposite. Yes, I know what the Case-Shiller report says, but I am looking at current market trends, and not data from homes that sold a few months ago. Currently, home sales in Louisville are sliding, and have been for quite a few weeks. Well, I took a bit of heat form other agents in town about my negative outlook. But now I have gone back and looked, and put together a graph showing what homes prices in Louisville have been doing, and I don't feel so bad about my negativity! The past nine weeks have seen either flat or declining prices for homes across Louisville, just as I reported to the local paper, and not what the "experts" were expecting to see after reading the Case-Shiller report.
