Out of over 10,000 homes for sale in Louisville and Southern Indiana only about 40 of them are on the river. If you can find a house for sale on the river you'll need to make sure you get flood insurance in addition to your home owners property insurance. You'll also want to get a mold inspection before buying a house for sale near a river, creek or lake. And the last piece of advice I have is to check the building restrictions before you start any remodeling projects or building new construction. There are many rules about what you can and can't do to waterfront property. You can see a list of all the available condos for sale and houses for sale on the river in Louisville here.
