One of the oldest homes in Margaret Place

Photo of home in Margaret Place with Lake Charles Columns

This home is one of the oldest homes in Margaret Place and may well be THE oldest home in the Margaret Place Historical District.

I'm not sure of the age, but this former home of Lake Charles Mayor Locke is very near 100 years old. It is on the corner of Griffith and Wilson, just one block from the Lake.

The owner's efforts to renovate this home "right" was recognized several years ago by the Calcasieu Preservation Society.

The wrap-around porch is a terrific vantage point for all things Margaret Place.

While hard to imagine, the owners are as impressive as this home!
