The pavilion in Bord du Lac Park

As the excitement grows over the grand opening of the promenade at the Lake Charles lakefront, I thought I'd provide some on-line resources about the Bord Du Lac pavilion near the civic center.

Many a concert has been held in this outdoor venue which gives those in attendance a wonderful view of the lake as well as the performers. You can learn more about the Bord Du Lac pavilion at this page on the city's website.

If you are ever passing through on I-10, it is quite easy to pull off on Ryan Street (westbound) or Lakeshore Drive (eastbound) to enjoy the pavilion and all the Lakefront has to offer.

Of course, there is much more to the Civic Center area, but for this post I wanted to present the Bord du Lac Park. It elicits many memories, including standing on the hill waving the flag during the 4th of July celebrations.

The park also played host to the Vietnam War Memorial Moving Wall a few years ago. It was one of the most solemn moments of my life.
