Historical Cash & Carry Warehouse Restored with Complete Electrical Remodel

Cash & Carry  Building Remodel

Cash & Carry in Lake Charles

Located at the corner of Broad and Enterprise at 810 Enterprise Blvd. is the Old Cash & Carry Building.  This warehouse was built in the 1930's and was at that time as the name Cash & Carry implies, a grocery business.  Now everything that was once old has been made new again!

Rick Richard had a vision for restoring this building to a space that could be utilized for cultural events, catering and become a landmark for the Lake Charles downtown area.  In 2009 this building received an Honor Award from the Louisiana Trust for Historical Preservation for the preservation of the building.

This building is awesome with over 8,000 sq ft of space!! What is even more incredible is the amount of work that went into the restoration of this historic building. Look at these massive beams!  Rick Richard wanted to keep the look of a warehouse.  There was alot of electrical work involved to restore the lighting and fans in this building.  I noticed that the drop lights and intricate fans have a period look that enhances the feel of this building.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Darren David, Superintendent of Bourgeois & Son's Electric in Lake CharlesBourgeois & Son's Electric completed all the electrical work involved in the remodel of the Cash & Carry. Daren shared with me that this was a three month job to rewire and update this building top to bottom with new electrical mechanics.

Thanks to Bourgeois & Son's Electric for your work in restoring this building.  If you have any electrical upgrade or remodel projects, be sure to give Bourgeois & Son's Electric a call in Lake Charles 477-9412!

The Cash & Carry Building is now up and running and hosts an indoor Farmer's Market every Tuesday 5-7pm.  The building can be rented for events and the Wild Beast Feast which is an event sponsored by the Lake Charles Symphony is already reserved for April 30,2011!

Take a tour of this spacious building and see for yourself how cool it is!
