How To Recover From A Featured Post

Doug Rogers Bayou Properties Realty

Like a might river, comments start streaming onto your new blog post. Apparently your post on why agents are under paid struck a nerve with the audience. Within minutes the coveted gold star appears and your little post has made it to the big league.

The next day is a blur of agents from all over the country giving you a virtual pat on the back. If only that little gold star was a patch, you would wear it proudly. Life is good dancing in the rain. Then the comments stop. What now?

Over the course of 425 blog posts this blind pig has found the acorn 19 times. And after every feature there is a sense of dread with the next post. How will I top that feature that received 500 views and 93 comments? After one featured post I went a week without blogging at all.

This is the worst thing you can do. Don't worry about matching the quality of your last post. Just write. Get back on that proverbial horse and write!

The creative juices still not flowing? Blog on one of your listings. This is a quick (and productive) way to get back in the game. The key to blogging is to be consistent. Don't let one gold star clog up your Internet pipeline!
