Constructed between 1819 and 1828, Fort Pike was one of five forts built to defend New Orleans. It was named for General Zebulon Pike, whose expedition reached the Rocky Mountains and the mountain peak which that also bears his name.

Approximately 15 unique antique shops are here for shopping and browsing in the Olde Towne area of Slidell. In April and October, the six-block area is transformed into a street fair, attracting dealers from a five-state area.

Located in the old Town Hall building, this museum contains photographs, documents, memoirs, scrapbooks, and artifacts that reflect the community's history. Built in 1907, the Town Hall included a jail on the first floor and offices for the mayor and a meeting room for the town council on the second floor. An addition was added to house the town fire truck in 1927.
