Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fettuccine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp (peeled and devined)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt to taste

Directions:

1) Bring a large pot of water to boil and cook pasta for 8-10 minutes or until al dente: drain

2) In a large skillet saute shrimp and garlic in the butter for about one minute. Pour in half and half and stir. Sprinkle in parmesan cheese one tablespoon at a time and stir constantly. Once Parmesan cheese is added stir frequently. Make sure it does not boil. Sauce will take a while to thicken.

3) When sauce has thickened combine with pasta and serve hot.

I prefer to use angel hair pasta and add more half and half so it isn't so dry. You will tweak this recipe to fit your own tastebuds. Always use fresh shrimp if available.
