Saturday, Oct. 31, you can get rid of household hazardous materials at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, LA.
From 9am to 1pm, residential materials will be accepted, no commercial items or chemicals.
Clean out the garage & boxes of old stuff such as acids, aerosol cans, arsenic, auto products, cooking oil, batteries, bleach, bug sprays, wood preservatives, cleaning solvents, corrosive cleaners, degreasers, disinfectants, paint thinner, paint, fluorescent tubes, lawn and garden products, lighter fluid, moth balls, oven cleaners, polishes, televisions, stereos, turpentine, pool chemicals and medications.
If you are planning to put your house on the market, now is the time to get rid of all this stuff! Remember, you can't put any of this in regular garbage cans or take it to the dump.
They WILL NOT ACCEPT furniture, power tools, Styrofoam, fire extinguishers, fireworks and ammunition.
