With so much discussion this week regarding the new clean energy bill now heading to the Senate, I thought it would be interesting to hear what other Realtors and real estate professionals think of the latest version of the bill.
As a Certified EcoBroker, I am, personally, disappointed that NAR helped to water down the requirements for energy audits in real estate transactions, but I can also understand their concern, and the concern of my fellow Realtors, about its affect on real estate sales.
Which is more important to you - selling property or trying to live up to some sustainable-living, renewable energy ideals?

What's important to me is satisfying my client's needs. I can honestly say that not one customer or client has ever asked to see a "Green" or "Eco Friendly" home. Not one. Maybe they will in the future, but right now, it doesn't seem to be as much of a concern as price/location/condition.

I am with Rich...price, location and condition. Two kinds of green my buyers look for $$$$$ and vibrant grass out front!
As a Realtor in Souther California I find it necessary to promote the eco friendly ideas such as the dry riverbed look to many of my clients. The only issue is having it done right to prevent weeds. I have noticed more front yards converting, but not nearly enough. It takes Front Runners to get it off the ground. California is already low on water and the future is looking grim. We must promote every possible water conservation as possible.
