The N.E. Patriots take on the Miami Dolphind today in a key AFC Eastern division matchup.
I am an avid Patriots fan and this matchup will take on the feel of a Playoff game. Miami is coming off a loss and don't be fooled by their cellar dwelling 5-7 record. Miami somehow gets up to the challenge and will play New England very aggressively and don't be surprised if they actually defeat the Patriots.
The Patriots have turned the ball over 18 times in their last 6 games and hope to cure that problem today.
Two key players will be out of todays contest Rookie running back Laurence Maroney is out with a sore back after taking a helmet to helmet crushing blow last week against the Detroit Lions for New England.
The Dolphins will be without second year star runing back Ronnie Brown who is out with a broken left hand also suffered against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day.
Tom Brady will try and direct the Patriots to their 10th victory today. He will need to be sharp and the offensive front line will need to protect him against the blitz.
Corey Dillon will need to have strong game and chew up a lot of real estate as he marches up and the field plowing thru the Miami defense.
My biggest concern is the Patriots secondary as they are without a few of their key players in that position.
Their defense which is in the top three of the league will need to play one of their best games to overcome a strong Dolphin offense. Game time 1:00 EST on CBS
Other Key matchups today will be Baltimore at Kansas City I'm rooting for KC this week.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville This one I am taking Jacksonville as I want the Colts to lose so the Pats can try and gain home field advantage for the playoffs.
Denver at San Diego I'll be cheering for the Broncos here Chargers are an offensive juggernaut. Go Broncos.
One of the few times I will root for Denver. They almost always beat our Pats.
Well I hope your team wins today as long as they are the same teams I choose.
GO PATS!!!

GO PATRIOTS!!!!!
Go Broncos! They're my 2nd favorite team - liked them better when John Elway played there, but still like them. I also am a Miami Dolphins fan, but not when they're playing the Patriots, that's for sure!!
Ann
Jay, did ya hear the talks with the Japanese player & Red Sox broke down? I did also hear that they will get their $51,000,000 back that they paid just to talk to him. I had heard, in the beginning, that that money was theirs to keep, guess not!
Ann
Game time...1pm that means my guy will be glued to the tube..beer in hand sitting in his recliner chair...Lets hope they win!!!!
Ann it was their money to keep if only the Red Ssox came to terms in compensation for taking away from the team he was playing for in Japan.
I had not heard that talks fell apart.
Thanks Jay
Jay, I know you are a Pat fan, however...
GO DOLPHINES !!!
also...Go Jaguars!! and if the game will not go your way, go ahead and read some of my AR Comedy blogs, these will cheer you up...LOL.
No problem Eli I'll read your comedy blogs anyways. I always love a good joke.
Thanks Jay
GO KC!
Big double time BUMMER!!!!!
Ann
I'm sorry for the Pats,, Jay. But as I've said Dolphines & Jaguars...both won today.
Bad Eli, bad BAD Eli!!
Ann, I do feel bad now...However, it is only Sport !!!
Anyway, I would recommend anyone that doesn't feel good from ANY reason, to read my AR comedy blogs... I'm sure he/she will feel better...
Hi Ann and Eli,
Yes, it was a sad day here at the McGillicuddy house. At halftime I went outside and swapped out my tires and put on snow tires. That was more exciting than the Pats game. The Dolphins basically beat the Pats up.
The Jacksonville game would have been a great game to watch. The Pats will be in Jacksonville in a couple of weeks. The Pats will have to play a lot better if they plan on keeping up with Jacksonville.
Thanks Jay
Sabin is a good coach. Once he has a quarterback his teams are going to be tough. I would like to see the Saints upset the Dallas cowduds tonite. We have too many injuries but you still have to play the game.
Hi Eric,
Yes, the Saints deserve to win and this will be a good game. Parcells is a Hall of Fame coach and the Cowboys have been playing better week by week. I look forward to a great battle tonight.
Thanks Jay
Well as I've mentioned its only sport...and the Dolphines are after a very bad start of the season...but improving now.
Jay,
It was a sad day here in RI also. I usually watch the games but was in my office with half an ear out for cheers.
I did not hear any.
What I did hear cannot be repeated on this blog!...I finally had to go see and it was very depressing so I just went back to work. Better than watching a SHUTOUT!!!ARRRRRGGHHHHH!
Heart attack Patriots is what we used to call them. Now I'm not so sure:(
Thanks Karen,
It was a bummer but nothing we can do but cheer them on. I just hope they make the playoffs.
I am a little worried as their performance against the Lions was less than stellar too and the Lions are the worst team in football.
Time will tell. Thanks Jay
Jay-I was born and raised in Chicago and am a die-hard Bears fan. They wooped up on St. Louis tonight on MNF! Da' Bears! A good friend of mine is in Iraq and is also a New England fanatic. After Sundays game, I think he went out looking for insurgents to take his frustration out on!
Hi Dave, maybe Da Bears will play the Pats again in the Super Bowl. Of course, with the same results as the previous game this year.
