The Hingham Real Estate market continued it's steady sale pace through November. November saw 14 single family homes sell at an average price of $795,241. This is two sold homes better than the same period a year prior, the same period that received a good boost of activity from the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit...a good sign. However the average sales price does not compare favorably to the $850,348 from November of 2009. It does make some sense to dig a bit deeper into the numbers and see that it is lower end of the market that is driving sales. Last month half of the homes sold, were sold at prices below $720,000! However much Hingham offers a high brow image, affordability is more of a choice than is perceived.
