Alprilla Farms is a Hopkinton neighborhood that is set on what used to be old farm land. It is located off of Front Street fairly close to the center of town.
The Alprilla Farms subdivision was developed in the 1980's by builder John Hackenson. There are 32 homes in this mid range Hopkinton area.
The homes in this neighborhood are typically between 2200 square feet up to about 3200 square feet with just a few exceptions. The home pictured below is one of the largest in the neighborhood and has gone through substantial additions and renovations.
The majority of the homes are around 2400-2500 square feet.
As of September of 2008, most of the properties would have a value between the mid $400's up to the low $600's. The minimum lot size is one acre.
The trademark of John Hackenson was the style of home he built. They can be described as nothing but VERY Colonial. Almost all of the homes built in this neighborhood would be considered Colonial Reproductions. You will find a few variations of styling including Colonials, Garrisons, Cape, and Gambrel Cape.

Some of John Hackenson's trademarks were the Pine floors, beamed ceilings, colonial wainscoting, old style door latches, and custom pine cabinetry. The minute you walk through the door it is like you are stepping back in time. These homes were built according to classic New England Architecture.
When you think Alprilla Farms you think Early American! Of course over the years people do upgrade their homes and add modern conveniences with such things as granite counters and stainless appliances.
The typical Alprilla Farm home has 3-4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a two car garage.
You will find the neighborhood to be very well maintained. All of the homes are kept up quite well.
The only drawback with some of the homes is that the floor plans tend to be somewhat dated and "boxy" in nature. Your not going to find the massive kitchens and family rooms at Aprilla Farms. What you will find is a more cozy space that just "feels" warm and inviting.
If you love the look and feel of an Early American home, Alprilla Farms would certainly be a Hopkinton neighborhood worth looking into!
