The Lancaster Friends of the Nashua River will hold the first ever Lancaster River Festival on Saturday, June 11 from 10am till 5pm at Culley Field on Route 117 in Lancaster – directly across the street from the Lancaster/Bolton Fair Grounds. Admission to the Festival is free and open to all.

The Nashua River has undergone a wonderful transformation over the last three decades from a polluted eyesore to a spectacular natural resource. To celebrate that transformation and to bring recreation to the river, the day will feature canoe and kayak rides with Still River Outfitters from Bolton providing the boats and supervision. Educational safety instruction and kayak exhibitions will also be featured for children in the small pond at the site.

The event will feature a wide variety of family activities and include exhibitors from throughout the community. The Lancaster 4H Club will have livestock on site and feature a petting zoo, Mass Audubon and Mass Fish and Wildlife will run educational programs and several non-profit community organizations will have informational booths. In addition there will be food, drink and ice cream available.

There will also be a stage featuring live music from 12 noon till 4pm. The music starts with Christine Hatch (Nancy Beaudette and Christine Hatch) followed by Paul Della Valle at 1pm, Still River (Marion Webster and Group) at 2pm, and at 3pm Scott and Nancy (Scott Rossley and Nancy Beaudette)
