The North Shore had a premier night club / music venue in the 50's , 60's and early 70's. Lennie's On The Turnpike( Rt 1 ) attracted a diverse array of the very best music performers of the time, even outdoing the Boston Clubs. The musicians simply loved Lennie and wanted to perform there. It was a bit before my time, but my husband, Ron, recalls seeing among others, Nina Simone, Keith Jarrett, Ahmed Jamal, BB King and Miles Davis at the club.
