Withdaylight savings time upon us it's good to remind sellers to make sure to leave the lights on for evening showings. I use the famous Motel 6 spokesmanTom Bodett's saying, "We'll leave the light on for you". Sellers should make sure the porch light(s) are working & clear of obstacles, the numbers are easily visible from the road, and the walkway is clear of leaves, snow, ice etc. Remember un-accompanied showing agents may not know where all the light switches are, make sure to turn them on for the showing. Keep stairwells clear & handrails are firmly attached and also the stair treads in good repair. Having all the lights on and working makes buyers feel more at ease looking around and envisioning themselves living there. Replace any broken lightbulbs, considercompact flourescent (CF) lightbulbs.
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe & enjoyable holiday season :)
