There ARE differences in Painting COSTS...SO BEWARE OF TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE ADS ON CL

CL has been a great marketing tool for skilled trade professionals such as carpenters and painters. Yet there are some downfalls lately...especially in Boston.

I am scratching my head here..... .... .....

How can a PROFESSIONAL PAINTER claim to paint a room in Boston using AURA paints for $200 and make any money - you figure $54.99 retail for AURA paint + tax / an average sized room in Boston is about 13'x16' so figure 2 gals for the walls - okay the trim will run you another $54.99 - then low voc ceiling paint... another $25.00...labor to do the room is about 1 day to 1.5 days depending upon trim/ windows/doors etc. If you are a PROFESSIONAL - you have some overhead costs (licensing fees - insurance - equipment) and travelling expenses - Doesn't the old adage "IF SOMETHING SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS..." resonate here...

So when hiring PROFESSIONALS be PREPARED TO PAY A LITTLE MONEY (BETWEEN $500 and $600 per room) if YOU WANT QUALITY WORK!
