Alert! Massachusetts Highways are Jammed with Summer Travelers

Driving down the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) at mid-day today, it was obvious that summer holiday traffic was already in full force. The toll booths were slowed down, the on-ramps were busy, and the rest stop had a line-up for parking spaces.
People have wasted no time in getting packed and started on their summer holidays.
What does this mean? For anyone traveling into and out of Massachusetts for the next two months, be prepared for slow speeds and waiting in line. The Mass Turnpike is a major travel artery, bringing visitors from New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine to and from other parts of the country. Throw in the magnetic pull of Boston and Cape Cod, and all routes north, south, east, and west will be busy.
Plan ahead, get an early start, allow extra time for your travels, and watch your neighbors on the highway.
Have a great summer, wherever the road takes you.
