Of course, like Real Estate, all weather is local. I was amused by a story on our local news last night about the chilly weather the folks in Florida have been experiencing. Especially amusing to us here in New England, where everyone has a friend/relative who we call "snowbirds". They leave us in early January and return in April/May. The reporter thought it would be a good time to give our friends a call and enjoy the "payback" of needling them about their current weather conditions. After all, don't they constantly remind us with comments like: "Heard your getting hit with another Nor'easter, heh, heh". What I really got a chuckle over was the videos of the Florida local newscasts. "Warning - this is heavy coat weather"......and......."Don't forget to bring your pets inside".
To find out exactly how cold and dire the conditions in Florida really are, I googled it and found this amusing story - what a hoot!
This winter will probably make it into some record book for us. This is what we have been waking up to since we began the New Year:
The local Florida news also gave advice on how to protect annuals from succumbing to the cold.... What would they say about my hydrangeas?:
That's the poor little guy to the left of the tree - you can barely see the top ;(
We haven't seen the lawn for over a month...
But, we are hardy types here. We have hope that the sun will shine again and look forward to the Boys of Summer:
