As I reported in a post yesterday, the Town Meeting began here in Provincetown on Monday night with many residents faced with a tax hike to allow continued curb side trash pick up, or reject the Proposition 2 1/2 and do without the service. Also, approved, an extra $106,340 in an override will allow the Town Manager to give up to 3 percent raises to both union and non-union town employees.
At the second meeting Tuesday night voters approved the override to fund the $153,000 expense to continue trash pick up. The overrides and capital exclusion articles still need to be approved by ballot vote at the town election May 6.
