Summer Enrichment Program

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Summer Enrichment Programs are committed to providing innovative programs and learning experiences for participating children. The Summer Enrichment programs are designed to introduce children to a number of new programming opportunities and activities that build upon the skills they learn throughout the school year. On The Wilder Side

If you are looking for a fun-filled out-of-the-ordinary experience, this one week adventure program is just right for you and promises to be extraorinary! Activities will include team building games and challenges, kayaking, fishing, treasure hunts, hiking, snorkeling, survival skills and so much more! Get the details.


All Skills Soccer Academy

Soccer promotes good health, fitness, teamwork and social acceptance. You need to work hard in order to be your best, and this pre-season tune-up will do just that! Get the details.


Summer Tennis Programs

The Recreation Division is in its fifth year of offering tennis for the youth in the city of Springfield. This year promises to be an even bigger year for tennis. New programs include Adult tennis lessons, tennis for children 3-5 years old, and a new program developed by the USTA called 36/60. Get the details.


Public skating

Public skating is offered at Cyr Arena in Forest Park on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.. There is a $3.00 admission fee and a $3.00 skate rental fee. Birthday parties may be scheduled please call 787-6438 after 4:00 p.m. for booking and fee information.


Evening activities for kids

The Springfield Parks Department is pleased to announce that the evening recreation program for City children 7-15 years of age has begun, and will run through June 3. Get the details here.


After school programs

Looking for a free after-school program that provides a safe, fun-filled environment for your children with lots of opportunities for hands-on educational and recreational activities to support what they do during the school day? The Recreation Division of the Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management runs nine, after-school programs at three elementary and six middle schools located throughout the city and funded by the Massachusetts Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Center grant.
