www.Kenwood-Forest.com is now up and running!

When I switched companies last summer, I lost my geographical based website, www.kenwoodforest.com because my broker actually owned the website domain and wouldn't give it to me when I left his office. Go figure - just a little spiteful, I would say! He even went so far as to give away "my" old website which I had worked so hard to develop and grow the Google juice for. When you go to that website, Maggie Simpson's face is smiling out at you, even though my name shows up with the website in Google. Oh well.....

I started a new website, www.kenwood-forest.com, and tried to perfect it and grow the Google juice again. My objection to my old website was the difficulty I had in maintaining it since I am not a webmaster, and whenever there was new listing or sale in the community I had trouble updating my website to show the change. My "webmaster" wanted a ridiculous sum of money to maintain the updates, so the site was always out of date. My goal in the new website, www.kenwood-forest.com, was to create a site that I could maintain myself by using WordPress.

Unfortunately, my new web designer had great ideas, which sounded wonderful in principal - great lead generation, lead capture, drip campaigns, google words, pay per clicks. I was going to be a walking talking money making machine. I was psyched! Of course, I wasn't sure how I was going to handle all this new business since I was a solo agent then, but never fear. Build it and they will come.

Somehow, my website never really materialized in the way that I wanted it to. Turned out the progamming for the great lead generation, lead capture, drip campaigns and mapping had not been written yet. The site didn't look quite like what I wanted. One day I started to update WordPress but I panicked in the middle of the update and cancelled it because I hadn't backed up my data yet. Turns out that turning an update off mid-stream can be a huge problem. I crashed the entire functionality and couldn't upload pictures any more. Apparently no one has been able to crash the program quite like I did ever before, so I am proud of that accomplishment.

My web designer's wife had a baby in the middle of everything. Of course it also has snowed and snowed and shut down the east coast a few times. My website continued to limp along. Finally in a fit of frustration, I declared that I just want my old style website back. Simple, focused on the community, easily updated for sales and listings, nothing special but just what I want. Simple indeed is best.

I think my website is finally ready - or maybe just a day away. I hope you visit it. I could use the Google Juice!
