As I reread, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill – one of my original highlights jumped out at me and it just so happened to be the object of the book which “i "is to help all who seek it to learn the art of changing their minds from failure consciousness to success consciousness.”
The objective really hit me as I think back to my football days as a Terps wide receiver. One particular play stands out in my mind b/c we were losing and needed needed to score a touchdown to win the game in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.
At any point, the play was coming to me -- If I could beat my man on a deep pattern – now here’s the clincher – as I left the huddle the thought on my mind waswa was --- don’t drop the ball, don’t drop the ball –so of course – I dropped the ball b/c that is what I was thinking.
If I had applied Hill’s philosophy or used “The Secret”, it would have been catch the ball and score. Today, I was able to catch a part of the Oprah show, which aired its second episode of The Secret!
I share this to state the importance of mindset. You receive what you project!

Yes, I saw this episode and the original airing on Oprah. I love the fact that these principles are reaching the mainstream. It's very empowering to go from poverty consciousness to prosperity consciousness, and to realize that all it takes is a shift in perception. Imagine how fast peace could be achieved if everyone went from a victim to a conscious creator.

The Secret...Napolean Hill...Maxwell Marx...Dale Carnegie...Wayne Dyer...all have been trying to teach us about "the force" , "the secret" , the "power of positve" , "the source"...the idea that people manifest their own realities as much from their attitude and intention as from their actions or skills.
People don't want to believe this is possible...they resist...but if they had just a little faith...tried it for a week...they'd see something amazing happen...and their life would change forever.

Point well taken! As soon as you mentioned the word"possible", it reminded of what Napoleon Hill said which is "One of the main weaknesses of mankind is the average man's familiarity with the word "impossible." He knows all the rules which will not work......This book was written for those who seek the rules wich have made others successful, and are willing to stake everything on those rules.
I have to thank "Coack K", Colleen Kulilowski for her post, "Come Soar with the Big Guys! So --I decided to take her challenge of activity and follow someone who is successful.

I read Think and grow rich 26 yrs ago and it changed my life. I also watched Zig Ziglar videos all the time and it really made a huge difference. Zig said:" In order to be successful you have to help others be more successful." and that is when I went into management. It is very true. I also "If you think you can or you think you can't either way you're right. " Henry Ford.
