21st Annual Columbia Classic Grand Prix: September 20th 2008

The grounds of the Howard County Community College will come alive this weekend with the 21st Annual Columbia Classic Grand Prix.

Even if you are not an equestrian inclined person it is difficult to not admire the elegance of this event as majestic horses and Olympic-caliber riders bring the highest levels of show jumping competition to the heart of Maryland. It's a terrific spectator sport. "Ooh and ahh" as the competitors race around the course to beat the clock and avoid knocking into the jumps.

There are pony rides, demonstrations, exhibits and food. A highlight of the day is the grand raffle for the MERCEDES BENZ. Only $100 per ticket.

This event is the college's major fundraiser and benefits the HCC Educational Foundation, which provides financial assistance to HCC students seeking the opportunities of education.
