Giving in Crofton Maryland?

If you missed the school canned food drive and stillcanned food drive want to give this season, RE/MAX Vision is accepting non-perishable food items at their office which is located at 1662 Village Green, across from the Crofton Country Club.

They are also collecting winter coats, hats, scarfs and gloves. These items will be donated to Sarah's House which is a shelter for battered women and their children.

If you are in the Crofton area and would like your donations picked up, just give us a call at 410-320-0242 and we'll stop by to save you a trip.

These are good giving opportunities to set an example for our children and discuss helping our community and those less fortunate.

winter coat drive

I'm looking for ways this season to help my children focus less on their wants and more on those who don't have enough of even the basic things. We live in an area where the standard of living is very high and most of the residents make a lot of money. What our children don't realize is that even in neighborhoods like this, there are people who are struggling. Struggling to pay all of their expenses, keep food on the table, and keep their children in good schools.

There aren't any "soup kitchens" in our town but I am looking for one not too far where I can bring the kids to volunteer this winter as I am hoping to make them more appreciative for what they have and less demanding. Well, hopefully!
