It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas in Crofton

'Twas December 1, and all through the community, everyone was stirring to get ready for Christmas...

Little elves (members of the Crofton Village Garden Club) scurried around the community, decorating light poles, the Front Gate, schools and the Crofton Library with holiday wreathes.

The Garden Club finished in plenty of time for evening festivities in front of Crofton Country Club at 6:30, where a record-breaking crowd gathered for a sing-along, the Christmas Tree lighting and Santa's arrival on the top of a fire truck.

Santa's Arrival

You can see that my granddaughter, Megan, was pretty excited when she saw Santa atop the firetruck. That's my husband, holding on to her so she doesn't run right over there.

Then, she and her brother Matthew finally got a turn to sit on Santa's lap. Matthew gave Sants his wish-list first, and then Megan had her turn.

Gary, Cynthia, and Sharon - Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on a local post.  The holiday decorations are one of my favorite things about Crofton, and I love having photos like these to share with prospective buyers relocating to Fort Meade and through the area.

Hi Margaret -- This should be very appealing to your prospective buyers moving into the area.  Love the picture of Megan gretting Santa.

Margaret:  This is such a lovely time of year with all the lights and bright red bows.  I love it.  Sounds like your family, and the rest of the community, had a great time at this event.

Margaret, it is definitely looking like Christmas.  Although it's just about the coldest part of the year I do look forward to it every year.  Now, the only thing you're missing is a healthy sprinkling of snow.  I have some I can send your way it you would like. :)

Margaret,

I hope that the true Spirit of Christmas permeates through every level of our society, and creates a new wave of hope and enthusiasm!!! Thanks,   Fran

Margaret - Christmas is one of those times throughout the year that we gather with family and friends to celebrate. Christmas is a time to reflect on what is, was, and will be important in your life. Christmas is about who is important in your life. Christmas is about the Joy of that First Christmas.

Have a Merry Christmas

Still not ready for Christmas...no snow in florida but back in buffalo ny my mother tells its snowing...always tuff to get in the spirt minus the snow but I will try...thanks for helping me get in the mood

Margaret:  Where's the snow?!  We had some in Blue Ridge for a couple of days but all gone now.  I can just feel the Christmas spirity of your community through your pictures.  Your granddaughter's excitment gives me that tickle in my tummy that I used to get when I was a kid.  Merry Christmas to you and your family.

It is definitely starting to look a little bit like Christmas. Every store I go to now I hear Christmas Music. But for some reason,Santa Claus is missing. I wonder if he is still at the North Pole? Great post.
