Last Friday evening hubby and I decided, on a whim, to head out to dinner and headed straight to the Edgewater Restaurant. Normally when we do the 'on a whim' dinner thing this restaurant is already packed but tonight we were lucky.
I noticed upon parking our car that some exterior remodeling had been taking place since our last visit which is quite attractive. A fresh look on an old friend.
The interior is very casual and offers both booth and table seating. We are booth kind of eaters so we were seated near the front of the restaurant. We ordered our drinks and started reviewing the menu. Since it had been awhile since we had been there we were both delighted to see our favorites were still there, backfin crab cake which I call 'the bomb' and they call jumbo and fried clams.
The service was quick but not pushy We placed our order which included cream of crab soup for me and Maryland crab soup for hubby. we both opted for the salad bar and a potato as a side. Since everything is cooked as you order we had ample time to cruise the small but delectable salad bar and enjoy eating it as well.
Not long after we finsihed our salads our dinner was served and it was as delicious as I remembered. The crab cake was all lump crabmeat, no fillers going on here and hubbys fried clams were seasoned to perfection. Yum
If you haven't had a chance to dine at the Edgewater Restaurant you might just want to give it a try. It's nothing fancy but boy is it delicious. Located right on Mayo Rd in Edgewater of course.

Martha: Oh... how I miss those Maryland Crab Cakes. And a bowl of crab soup... even if it is almost 1:00am here right now... oh how yummy it would be.
