Home Residential Resale Statistics -- January 2012

Howard County, as a whole, saw a good amount of sales volume, and Ellicott City was no exception.

21042 – The 21042 portion of Ellicott City saw a good month. Sales in 21042 were up over 20% compared to 2011, mostly attributed to the average sold price being almost 30% more than last year. The number of units was slightly down, 19 compared to 21, though homes were leaving the market over 25% quicker than last year.

21043 – 21043 continued the trend with a 6% increase in sales. The number of units sold, again, was comparable to last year, with 24 sold in 2012 compared to 25 in 2011. Average sold price was up 10%, and average days on the market was down almost 13%. There were less active listings when compared to January 2011, a 6% decrease, though with that said Ellicott City saw a strong month.
