Montgomery County Real Estate Stats for December 2010

Year-over-year shows Montgomery County's average sales prices rose by 4.27 percent. The average sales price this December was $470,357, compared with last December's average of $451,106.

Speculation for 2011 from Chief Ecnomist for the National Association of REALTORS® says nationally the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage is forecast to rise gradually to 5.3 percent around the end of 2011, while unemployment should drop to 9.2 percent.

Additional Montgomery County real estate stats show the following:

• Median sold price rose 8.96 percent to $365,000.
• Total units sold remained flat.
• Average days on market rose 14.05 percent to 83.
• There are currently 3,972 homes on the market in Montgomery County
